Hey it's Blake!,

Alright guys, I hate to say it, but this was our last destination. It's crazy how time flies when your having fun. haha You've probably never heard that one before, right?

Well, I didnt know much about Acapulco, Mexico until we decided to take this trip and make this one of our destinations. Too bad this wasn't during the spring time because from what I have heard, this is a popular spring break spot. Well the water was cold but thankfully the weather was decently warm for this time of year. We decided to take the opportunity to go snorkeling in a cove off of the island of Roqueta. Through the Acapulco Scuba Center, they arranged to take us in a boat out to the island where we experience the underwater world for the day. What was crazy, is that when we got to the boat, it had a glass bottom on it so you could see down in the water! It was phenomenal, we got to see all kinds of colorful, tropical fish, stingrays, and even some sharks! When we snorkeled in the cove, we got to really explore and see many other species of fish and sea creatures. We ended up seeing many cool species of tropical vegetation around the Island too, such as fauna and flora. Of course in between all of this exploring, you may get hungry. So whenever that time came, we just went to one of the restaurants by the dock, which not to my surprise served a delicious red snapper. It was just a beautiful day exploring the nature of the island. The snorkeling itself ended up costing us $35 per person, and then another $30 on top of that for lunch and souvenirs. So not a bad price for a nice day of fun in the sun.

So you thought we were done right? ohhhh no. What about when we got back. Well lets just say it got better. As night approached we decided to get a gourmet dinner, and of course where? No other than the La Perla Restaurant. Did I mention that they have night time cliff divers? Yeah, I'm not kidding. The Restaurant overlooks the cliffs from where the fearless cliff divers of La Quebrada risk their lifes just for our entertainment. Crazy if you ask me, I would never do it, but mind-blowing to say the least. And of course a dinner this nice would come at a pretty penny. It ended up coming out to $30-$45 per person, which I think is worth a once in a life time scene. It will definitely not be something that I forget for the rest of my life.

Hey guys, Blake here,

Our time in Australia was one of my favorites. I have always wanted to go to Australia. I even thought about doing study abroad there so this was pretty much a taste of that. A cool city indeed, so many architectural structures that are just mind blowing.

Of course the first built monument we went to was the Rialto Towers. Thankfully we received a student discount so it ended up only costing us $20.It was an incredible display, it had hundreds upon hundreds of windows. 35 elevators! It was the tallest building in the southern hemisphere for a number of years, just to give you an idea of how big this thing was. After we spent a good while there observing the landscape of Melbourne, as well as taking the opportunity to take some good pictures, we headed down. From here, we headed to Parliament House of Victoria. This place was over 150 years old. A pretty decent size place itself, nothing compared to the Rialto Towers of course. There was supposed to be a huge dome and elaborate facades built in the original designs, but was put off. After a couple of hours here, we marched on over to the Melbourne Town Hall. We were able to get a little bit of history of Melbourne here. It was a beautiful architectural building to say the least. At times, it is known for the town hall to hold theatrical performances, concerts, and other exhibitions. Once we spent enough time there, we headed on over to the State Library of Victoria. Now this place was really cool. It is among Australia's largest, over 150 years old and one of very important resources. There were numerous historic documents in there, including letters from Captain James Cook and diaries of the founders of the actual city. How cool is that?! This place was BEAUTIFUL and very insightful. As night approached, we thought it would be cool to go back to the Rialto Towers to see what the city looked like when lit up. Absolutely breath-taking. Just the vastness of the city and its overwhelming view made for a great topping to the day. Well worth a second $20. We have plenty of money and after all the other places being free, we could cut the cost.

Hey guys,  Blake here with some cool news,

So this was a pretty monumental detail left out here. Yeah, you probably thought I was dead in order to have left this out.

While in Singapore, Malaysia, we checked out a lot of the historical spots from WWII. There are tons of memorials and monuments dedicated to those that stood up for their country. I did not even realize the historical importance of Singapore during WWII, I would have never associated the two.

We learned that the British during WWII saw Singapore as very valuable, in that it was a key to the rest of Southeast Asia and a tremendous trading port.  These two very important things kept the British's attention and as a result, they fought to keep other hostile nations from taking it over. We visited sites such as The Ford Factory, Labrador Park, and Fort Siloso. The Ford Factory was the only one in Southeast Asia before WWII, later abandoned by Ford and then use to assemble fighter planes. Labrador Park and Fort Siloso were part of a critical attack method to hold back Japanese, decked out with some pretty large and heavy artillery. It was really cool to see these sights and learn of the history behind them. I would have never know or imagined these events to happen in Singapore. Whenever I think about WWII, I automatically think about the Attack On Pearl Harbor, along with the Japanese and Hitler. It never would have crossed my mind. We all enjoyed it, and not to mention it was free! We might have payed a few dollars total in cab fare, but that was it!

Hey guys, Blake here!

So there has been some emails and concerns from our followers saying that it seems as if some details have been taken out of our blog. Hate to say it, but I take full blame. It brings others joy to see how our trip has been going and the most minuet details count. So why would I want to leave those out, selfish of me if you may ask.

So here is one of a few events I left out. While back in Ranchi, India we had the opportunity to see a cricket match. You may ask, what is cricket?

Cricket is a team sport for two teams of eleven players each. A formal game of cricket can last anything from an afternoon to several days. Although the game play and rules are very different, the basic concept of cricket is similar to that of baseball. Teams bat in successive innings and attempt to score runs, while the opposing team fields and attempts to bring an end to the batting team's innings. After each team has batted an equal number of innings (either one or two, depending on conditions chosen before the game), the team with the most runs wins.

So it has similar characteristics to that of baseball, but is indeed a total different game.

We were able to get nice Adani Lower Pavillion seats for only Rs. 300 ($5.38 US dollars).
Needless to say we had plenty of money to spend on souvenirs and concessions. We spent about $20 a piece.

Before the game that afternoon. We went and checked out the new HEC International Stadium being built right in Ranchi. It was just recently finished and we were able to briefly see it. Its HUGE to say the least! I would imagine from the news of one of the attendants that it would open soon, as it is on the verge of being approved by the ICC(International Cricket Council).

It was India vs England. I honestly did not know anything about cricket until we watched the game, and honestly I could say that I still don't. haha Cricket is an interesting sport and hard to pick up at first. Considering we were residing in India for a week, even though English speaking, we pulled for India. haha (I mean the last thing we won't to do is get kicked out of the place we are staying at for a week. This way we we get to enjoy the culture for the time we're there without anybody promoting any harm towards us.) It started at noon and surprisingly ended late evening. If it had not of been our first cricket game then we probably would have left way earlier due to its longevity. It was a pretty cool event, definitely recommend if you ever get the chance.

Transportation In Acapulco

Hello Travelers,

At last we are at our at our final destination before we return home. We are now in Acapulco, Mexico and took a little while to get settle down here. It was one of the craziest trips to Mexico having a couple of layovers, one even bringing us back into the states but only for a brief period in Los Angeles before we headed across the border. The hostel, The Banyan Tree Cabo Marques Resort, was well worth the trip. Although once we landed at The Juan Alvarez International Airport we still had a 55 minute taxi
ride to the hostel. Check it out here. We had some cash to spend and everything wasn't too expensive in Mexico. We totaled out spending $50 US Dollars on the cab ride to our resort. It has been quite a journey and awesome traveling with a group like this. Check out the Airport we flew into...

It has been fun and a great learning experience.
I hope everyone enjoyed my posts and I made sure to fill out my evaluations.

Thanks,
Zach D.

Accomodations in Acapulco

Hello fellow travelers,
Sorry for the late post but I had to talk about the beautiful place we stayed in Acapulco, Mexico. I've never had an accomodation experience like this. I even preferred it over the Raffles in Singapore and that's saying a lot. We stayed at the Banyan Tree Cabo Marques resort. We got 3 oceanfront pool villas with two twin size beds in each. These rooms came with a private heated pool inside them! Wow! It was so awesome! We also had our own private balconies looking out onto the crystal clear water. The rooms were immaculate with a decor that combined Mexican and Asian. We received excellent service, as our rooms were always in pristine condition. These rooms were a pretty penny as you can imagine running us $484 usd per room per night. This resort even had a menu for bathrobes and pillows. Haha. The resorts featured restaurant Safforn served delicious Thai food. However, there were 2 other  restaurants on site as well. Saffron had excellent food. My favorite dish was the deep fried snapper with pineapple chili sauce. So yummy! So on accommodations in Acapulco we spent $8712 usd. It was worth every penny.
