Transportation Information for Singapore!!!

Okay guys so we are in some good luck for getting around Singapore because from what I have read it sounds like they have an awesome public/mass transportation network for us to get around on while we’re there.  We can even buy this awesome thing called The Singapore Tourists Pass to get free rides on all the MRT rails and LRT rails and buses, which, accompanied with Singapore’s pedestrian friendly streets should allow us to get around basically everywhere.  We can get a 3 day tourist pass (that’s the max days you can buy them) for 20 bucks so for the seven of us that’s $140 dollars for all of our transportation for 3 days.  We can buy them at the airport when we arrive too! Now that gets us unlimited transit on those lines for 3 days.  Upon the expiration of the 3 day period, our cards will turn into regular EZ-Link cards which we can top up with money at pay stations located around the city so we can still get around the rest of our stay. These are our best bet I think seeing as how it seems the fare system is very complicated over there because they charge you based on how long you ride. When we arrive we’ll have to get our passes from one of these locations during these times:

And we can rent bicycles from the hostile that we are staying at, although there are not many bike racks located around the city. It seems that there is a lack of taxis too so we don’t really need to bother with those unless we are really headed to a remote location.  And unfortunately the bus that runs at night, The Nightrider, will not let us use our tourist passes on it so we’ll need to top up our cards with cash before we ride at night because we will definitely be checking out the Singapore night life, its supposedly “legen, wait for it…daryyyy!!” Really hope everyone gets that quote from How I Met Your Mother. See you at RDU!
